Okay so I know I'm supposed to be the "Conservative Kid" (I hate Conservative vs Liberal see post 1), but I guess here I have a pretty "Liberal" view, and a pretty radical view for a Christian, but all will be explained in this blog. Now I just noticed that I failed to mention what I'm so radical about, my radicality (new word whoop) is in the fact that I think Gay Marriage should be allowed all across the USofA.
Let me first hit up my religious views before I move onto political jargon and other such nonsense. I believe that the Bible is very non-specific about the topic of homosexuality, while Leviticus 20:13 does indeed say (abridged): "If a man lays with a man like a woman he must be put to death". This is of course near Leviticus 19:27 which states: "Do not cut your hair nor shave" and Leviticus 19:19 which states: "Do not have a variety of crops in the same field". Now I know I may be lynched for saying this but I DO NOT believe that God intended this book for our current generation. Now according to what I read the book of Leviticus was put into practice to keep the Israelites separate from the barbaric lands around them. Point is this: Modern-Christians do not follow the other scriptures in Leviticus, why suddenly choose one specific verse and say "OOOHHH THAT ONE LETS KEEP IT" ? We shouldn't, unless we aim to become a selective religion, and I do not plan on being verse selective. Now mind you there are more verses in the Bible in which Homosexuals are killed, but normally it is in conjunction with large acts of sex, or promiscuity, which the Bible is clearly against.
Now from a purely non-Biblical standpoint here are my reasons for supporting Gay-Marriage: The law clearly gives us the "Pursuit of Happiness", as long as it doesn't enfrenge on other's rights of course, and being gay and married does not enfrenge on any of mine. So what is keeping the homosexual population from their happiness? Selective-Religionists (of many religions mind you), the close-minded, and "Homophobes" (Another interesting topic...) are. Not much else to say here, but please leave me your comments... This is a topic I find mad interesting and differing viewpoints are always a plus (And the same view don't hurt neither).
Imma post a new blog on abortion tomorrow, can't wait.

I agree. Love is love. <3 I think a lot of people have forgotten that.
ReplyDeleteAnd I think you should do a blog about George Tiller, the doctor who was director of a medical clinic that provided late-term abortions (abortions done after the 21st week of pregnancy). He was shot and killed on May 31 in his church.
When you going to post a new blog? Lol XP
